Djuma Galago Camp - Sabi Sands Game Reserve

Djuma Galago Camp is located next to Vuyatela lodge in the Djuma reserve within the Sabi Sands and has three luxury chalets. Two of which are family units that can sleep 4 each and the third can sleep 2. The main building is a converted bush house with lovely pool and garden. There is further accommodation in the main building (it can sleep 4 in two rooms as a family unit) and then there is a garden chalet that can sleep 2. Thus there is a choice of the type of accommodation guest would like to use, the more private chalets and / or the accommodation at the main building.

All rooms are air-conditioned and en-suite. It includes both indoor and outdoor cooking facilities. Guests bring their own drinks and cooking supplies for this self-catering lodge, although a chef can be arranged prior to arrival. The Galago experience includes a guide and tracker and a private game viewing vehicle, with additional quarters for guests’ own staff such as pilots, guides or chefs. The exclusivity of Galago camp allows guests to relax and unwind to a flexible schedule.

Djuma Galago Camp - Activities

Djuma Galago Camp offers big five safari activities within the world renowned Sabi Sands Game Reserve. The biggest selling point is is essentially the wilderness and untamed surrounds into which its guests can explore. This part of Africa has seen such a slight human imprint that the land is still governed by legendary animals like the Big-5: lion, leopard, rhino, buffalo and elephant. Activities are endless in the divine South African climate with 7000 hectares of wilderness on your doorstep. The flexibility of Galago’s schedule allows guests to make up their own activities schedule.

Morning and Evening Game Drives: A tracker and qualified ranger will take you through the reserve in specially designed game-drive vehicles, and do their utmost to deliver the finest game viewing opportunities.

Bush Walks: After a hearty breakfast, a bushwalk with one of our experienced rangers offers the opportunity to take a closer look at your wild surrounds. Discover unexpected surprises like a chameleon perched on a tree branch, or view the thousands of birds that roam Djuma’s skies.

All children are welcome, babysitting facility is available and will be added to the cost upon request.
Directions to Djuma Game Reserve Recommended route from Johannesburg Depart Johannesburg via the N12 highway and continue to Witbank which then becomes the N4 highway, continue straight, through Middelburg and on towards Belfast. Switch to the R540 to Dullstroom. Continue on through Lydenburg, Origstad and through the Strydom tunnel. On approaching Hoedspruit take the R531 to Klaserie, Acornhoek and then follow the signs for Sabi Sand to Gowrie Gate. Follow directional signs to the camp. Recommended route from Hoedspruit Airport Follow the Klaserie signs, at the T-junction turn left onto the R531, then follow the signs for Acornhoek. Then follow the signs for Sabi Sand to Gowrie Gate. Follow directional signs to the camp. Recommended self-drive route from Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport Take the R40 to White River, Hazyview, Bushbuckridge and Acornhoek. Then follow the signs for Sabi Sand to Gowrie Gate. Follow directional signs to the camp. Gate opening times and entrance fees Gowrie gate opens at 05h00 and closes at 22h00. Please note, these times are subject to change. The Sabi Sand Reserve is a protected reserve and therefore access is restricted. On entrance into the Sabi Sand Reserve, a vehicle entrance fee of R250.00 per vehicle, and R110.00 per person will be applicable. Please note check in time is from 14h00 and check out time on departure is at 10h00. Vuyatela is approximately 2.5 kms from the Gowrie Gate. Galago is approximately 2 kms from the Gowrie Gate.
